2-hour delay in the event of inclement weather

Story image 1_0

The Lafayette County C-1 School District will have the option for school to start on a 2-hour delay in the event of inclement weather. As a result, school for grades K-12 will start at 10:00am.

•Students may arrive to school no earlier than 9:30am. Breakfast will be served starting at 9:30am

•All bus pick-up times will be pushed back 2 hours. Example: If the bus pick-up time is normally 7:15am it will be pushed back to 9:15am

•Morning pre-school classes will be cancelled. Afternoon pre-school classes will begin as regularly scheduled

•There will be no Vo-Tech classes in the event of a late start. Vo-Tech students will report to school at 11:00am

•Lunch will be served at regular times

If school is cancelled or the late start option will be used, District officials will send a Husker Alert, notify all local news stations, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Popular outlets will include Kansas City based television stations Fox 4, CBS 5, ABC 9, and NBC 41, and the KMMO and KMZU radio stations. We will make every effort to inform the public and staff members of school closings or late starts as early as possible. When in doubt our practice will always be to use caution for the safety of our students, faculty, and staff.
