I hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing summer.  I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve as the building principal for the Lafayette County C-1 Middle School.  I look forward to working with each of you throughout the upcoming school year and I’m confident the 2021-22 school year will be filled with numerous educational events that will allow you the opportunity to learn and grow. Listed below are several dates of interest.  Please review the dates, mark them on your calendar, and attempt to take part in these back to school activities.

CLASS SCHEDULES AND LOCKER ASSIGNMENTS

Students in the seventh and eighth grade may pick up their class schedules and locker assignments on Tuesday, August 10th and Wednesday, August 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the middle school office. Sixth grade / new students will receive their schedules and locker assignments on Thursday, August 12th during middle school camp.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP                  Thursday,  August 12th                        7:30 am – 11:15 am

The Middle School staff would like to invite all incoming sixth graders, as well as any student new to the middle school, to attend our Middle School Camp.  The Middle School Camp will be held on Thursday, August 12th.  The camp will last from 7:30 am to 11:15 am.  The camp is designed to allow all students new to the middle school a chance to become familiar with our school.  Our hope is to assure a smooth transition from elementary to middle school for all students.

We will meet with students and parents in the middle school / high school library starting at 7:30 am.  At 7:40 am, Mr. Stickel and the middle school staff will welcome all students and parents in the high school library.  At approximately 7:40 am, Mr. Stickel will host a question answer session in the library for the parents.  At this time the students will be dismissed to the middle school gym to begin their daily activities.The camp will offer an opportunity for students to: participate in a building tour  that is designed to help them find their way around the school, meet the staff, have questions answered by a student panel, practice opening their lockers, preview the student agendas, as well as many other introductory activities.

WELCOME BACK 2021 7th/8th graders            Wednesday, August 11th                          1:00 - 3:00 pm

WELCOME BACK 2021 6th/new students         Thursday, August 12th                            2:30 - 5:00 pm

On Wednesday, August 11th we will invite the returning 7th and 8th grade students / parents to visit the school and bring their school supplies and work on their lockers.  Starting at 2:30 pm on Thursday, August 12th 6th grade students / parents may visit the school to bring in supplies and work on lockers.   All students will have the opportunity to visit the building, work on their school lockers, and tour the building.  The new students will have an opportunity to show their parents around the building and showcase some of the things they learned during middle school camp. 

MIDDLE SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE     Thursday, August 19th                        5:30 -7:00 pm

The Middle School staff would like to invite all middle school students and parents to visit the building on Thursday, August 19th.  The middle school staff will be available from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.  This evening is designed to allow students and parents the opportunity to meet the teachers and tour the building.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL                  Monday, August 23rd                               8:00 a.m.
