LCC1 MS and HS student councils visited Raytown today for the Trails West Districts meeting. MS student council hosted approximately 200 MS students, as the 2nd Vice President candidate school teaching creative, simple, and affordable assembly games. Both MS and HS campaigned for district positions for next year, with MS winning 2nd Vice President again! MS advisor Terra Hass was nominated as Trails West Middle School Advisor of the Year. LCC1 had a blast and represented our Huskers with gusto and kindness.
Extra shout out to this kids for all the hard work they put into their campaign and to Mrs. Hass for winning Trails West Advisor of the Year. Well deserved!!
We look forward to seeing you at parent teacher conferences tomorrow!!

A few pictures from our Sugar Shock activity in FACS! We’ve been learning about nutrition, and today students got to see just how much sugar is actually in some of their favorite foods and drinks! They measured out the sugar and put it into bags so they could get a better visual of what they’re consuming. I think some of them were pretty shocked! 😂 Such a fun, hands on way to bring what we’ve been learning to life!
The Middle School Change Drive officially kicked off!🎉
We are collecting money to support Special Olympics and compete against Lexington to see which school can raise the most money! Every penny counts, so let's show them what our HUSKERS can do!
The last time we held our Change Drive in October 2024, LCC1 community absolutely showed up:
DISTRICT TOTAL: $4,899.29 🎉
And Lexington raised…
$341.82. 👀
So, naturally…
LET'S DO IT AGAIN.

The “High Grace, High Accountability” shirts are something Coach Joyner gives to students who really demonstrate what those words mean in class. They’ve shown a strong understanding of what is expected of them, along with an outstanding work ethic and attitude. For some, that has meant overcoming something they initially struggled with and continuing to work until they found success. For others, it’s about showing up every day and consistently exceeding expectations. Several have also taken on extra responsibilities as helpers in class and have really excelled in those roles.
I am proud of these kiddos for earning these shirts as well as Coach Joyner for going above and beyond for his students!
