"Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by delivering high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to the homes of registered children under age 5, at no cost to the family.
The Missouri Imagination Library was made possible by legislation (Section 178.694 RSMo) that identifies school districts as the local partner for this initiative. Full funding was included in DESE’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget to establish and administer Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for all children in Missouri age 0-5.

#ThrowbackThursday with our Husker Alumni!💙💛
Lauden Wheeler, Class of 2013
Favorite High School Memory: 💛 "The biggest high school memory I have is the 2011-2012 Football Season. The friendships, discipline, motivation, and accountability that we learned over the course of that season is something I have taken with me in life. Not only did that season build us all as men but was also an experience that will last a lifetime with an amazing team, school, and friends. "
Advice to Students: 🙌 "There are many things looking back at my high school years that I wish I could change or do over but when asked what advice would you give a student now that you are further in your career. The one thing I will always say is soak it all in. These years will fly by before you can even blink. You don't want to look back on your high school career and think - I wish I would have don't this, or man I shouldn't have taken that for granted. The friendships you make and the experiences you have will last a lifetime but you only get one shot at your high school experience. Play the sport, join the club, hang out with friends, do not miss out on opportunities before it is too late."
College Attended: 🎓 University of Missouri
Career Path: 🥼 "I am the Senior Sales Lead for Trace Genomics covering the Midwest and Southern Regions. I decided to pursue my career in agriculture because growing up it became my passion. Through my career I have been down many different path in the Ag Industry from Retail, Customer Service, Cooperate, and now Sales and Solutions. Trace Genomics allows me to take my passion for soils and precision agriculture and help agronomist find solutions for their growers. "

Teacher Spotlight!
Mr. Landon Figg is our 7th and 8th-grade physical education teacher and makes a profound impact on both students and staff members at our school. Mr. Figg's dedication to his work, leadership qualities, and commitment to creating a positive learning environment are truly commendable.
Mr. Figg consistently seeks innovative ways to engage and motivate his students. His commitment to making learning fun not only keeps students actively participating in physical education but also encourages them to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.

Teacher Spotlight!
Mrs. Ward has been influential in helping the school district adopt the ALEKS online math program, which is a web-based mathematics curriculum that tailors instruction to the skill level of each student. She has helped lead staff training at both the middle and high school levels to help launch this program.
As one of our teachers who provides instruction to students from both the middle school and high school, she performs a vital role for our students. She is also leading a push to provide greater accountability during our Husker Homeroom time in order to help all our students be successful. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our Husker students and staff!
Great job! Keep making a positive impact!

Teacher Spotlight!
Ms. Jessica Russell, or Ms. R, as she is known to her students and our staff, has been rocking this school year! She has been working hard to create relationships with her students and to create a calm, responsive learning environment. Her students are so excited to come to her room each day! One student said, “She helps me learn a lot!” Another student said, “She helps me and makes me feel safe.”
Ms. R has also stepped up to help her colleagues and has settled into a leadership role this year. She is a creative problem solver, yet humble enough to ask for help in areas she is struggling with. She will do anything asked of her and finds ways to help at every turn. We are very fortunate to have Ms. R as part of our school family.
Thanks for being awesome!

October is National Principals Month.
