Students recently brought literature to life by reading The Lemonade War and then applying their creativity and teamwork to set up their own lemonade stands. Inspired by the story, they designed, built, and ran their stands, serving up sweet, refreshing lemonade to students and staff across the school. The project blended reading and fun, giving students a hands-on experience that connected the themes of the book to real-world skills and collaboration.

The Higginsville Cycling Club made a generous donation to local youth by providing a brand-new girl’s bike and a boy’s bike to students attending summer school. The bikes were awarded through a random drawing, bringing surprise and excitement to the lucky recipients. This thoughtful gesture not only promotes healthy lifestyles but also reflects the club’s commitment to supporting and inspiring the next generation of cyclists in the community.

Summer School Arrival/Dismissal Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. (please do not drop your child off any earlier) Tardy bell 8:00 a.m. Dismissal 2:30 p.m. Students will have 2 choices upon arrival: 1. Playground (weather permitting) If a student decides to go to the playground, they will be allowed to eat at 7:45 a.m. 2. Cafeteria Students who decide NOT to go to the playground will eat at the cafeteria. In the case of bad weather, students will go to the gym and find their teacher's name on the wall. We encourage everyone to use the car rider line on the East side of the school. A couple of things to be mindful of: 1. Students need to be on the passenger side of your vehicle. They will exit and enter the passenger side. Please arrange the car and booster seats so that they are on the correct side of the vehicle. 2. If you need a moment to get a child buckled in, we ask that you go ahead and pull forward past the poles to the right. This way we can keep the flow of traffic. We are allowing parents to walk their students to the playground (go through the school from the West Parking Lot) or cafeteria (for students not wanting to go to the playground) on the first day of school. Please park in the West Parking Lot ( do not use the 1, 2, or 3 spaces). Please DO NOT park next to the sidewalk on the West side. If you have a dismissal change, please contact the office by 1:30 p.m. After the first day, all students need to be dropped off in the Car Rider Line (East side of the school).
